SPRING 2015 RACCOON CREEK CUP CHAMPION: Putnam Co. GNP United

SPRING 2015 RACCOON CREEK CUP runner-up: Putnam Co. Phantom Pterodactyls

Participation:

  • The series will be open to players from U15 to U19 for clubs in West-Central Indiana.
  • Co-ed teams are welcome.
  • Teams must observe the IHSAA stipulation (Rule 15-2.2a, pp. 52-53) that no more than 6 players from any one high school with a soccer program may be rostered with, and compete on, that team, not counting seniors or incoming freshmen prior to their matriculation into high school.

Rule Modifications for Regular Season Raccoon Creek Cup:

  • Law 1 – The Field: U10-sized field (ca. 50-60 yds x 40-45 yds), with markings as indicated in the ISL Modified Playing Rules for U10.
  • Law 1 – The Goal: Height: 6-7 feet; Width: 18-21 feet (U12-size goals). U10-size goals (6′ x 12′) may also be used if necessary.
  • Law 2 – Ball: Size 5
  • Law 3 – Number of Players on the Field: Maximum – 6 (one must be a goalkeeper); Minimum – 4. Game roster maximum: 10.
(unlimited) Substitutions may be done at any stoppage of play with the permission of the referee.
  • Laws 5 & 6 – The Referee and Assistant Referees: One USSF certified referee is used. Referee pay: $30 (each team pays half prior to the start of the match).
  • Law 7 – Duration of the Match: 3 x 16-minute periods; 3-minute intermissions.
  • Law 8 — Start and Restart of Play: a second coin toss should be held at the start of the third period; the team that wins the second coin toss decides which end of the field to defend in that final period, since there is an odd number of periods.
  • Law 10 —Modified scoring format: one goal for the winner of each of three 16-min. periods (whatever the actual score), or one goal to each side for ties. Therefore, the only final score combinations are:
    • 3-0 (one team wins all three periods)
    • 2-1 (one team wins two; the other team wins one period)
    • 2-2 (each team wins one, and they tie the third)
    • 3-3 (each period ends in a tie)
    • 3-2 (one team wins one, the other two are ties)
  • Law 11 – Off-Side: A ‘soft’ offside called by the referee in cases of obvious ‘poaching’.
  • Law 12 – Fouls and Misconducts: Punting by the goalkeeper is not allowed (restart with the ball in the goalkeeper’s hand if there is an infraction).
  • Law 16 — The Goal Kick: May be taken from anywhere inside the penalty area.
  • All other rules conform to FIFA Laws of the Game.
